In the forthcoming series against India, all the hopes of playing Steve Smith and David Warner were over because Cricket Australia refused to lift the ban for the ball tampering case. Looking at the poor performance of the Australian team in the last few days, Warner and Smith were holding the demand to lift the ban so that they could play against India in the Test series starting in Adelaide from December 6. These two are banned for one year and Cameron Bancroft has been imposed for nine months.
Cricket Australia's interim president Earl Edwards said in a statement that after considering the ACA's arguments, the Cricket Australia Board has decided that the reduction in the sentence awarded to the three players will not be right.
