Sweden's car maker Volvo and Sweden's telecommunications services, signed an agreement on Thursday, in which Ericsson's industrial connected vehicle Cloud (CVC) platform will be manufactured by the car maker in more than 120 global markets in the next five years.
From this deal, Volvo Cars will be able to provide car digital services to car owners and drivers, including services such as automation, fleet management, telemetics, navigation and entertainment. In a statement, ASIA Thompson, Head of Business Area Technology and New Business of Ericsson Technologies, said in a statement: "Erickson will provide a highly scalable global platform for connected services to Volvo Cars.
Eliminating the complexity of areas like legal validity and storage management of data, our platform will enhance the user experience of connected services of Volvo Cars. He explained that Ericsson's CVC platform, distributed through geographically distributed centers, will bear the full responsibility of legal, security and privacy obligations.
