Marathon's world record holder and Kenyan athlete Aleid Kipchoge has won the International Athletics Federation's (IAAF) Best Athlete of the Year Award. According to the website ESPN report, Colombian long jump athlete Ketterine Ebargen won the award in the women's category. Kipchoge got the first place by completing the Berlin Marathon in September this year, in two hours, one minute and 39 seconds. He broke the world record of another athlete Denis Kimeto of Kenya in this order and set a new record. Apart from this, Kipchoge also got first place in the London Marathon in April. Katrin maintained his dominance over the long jump competition in Central America and the Caribbean Games. Along with this he also secured first place in the IAAF Continental Cup. In the IAAF Diamond League Finals, Katrin also won a gold in the long jump event.
